Seven small towns in the U.S. will welcome Jason Aldean and Kid Rock next year when the polarizing singers co-headline the Rock the Country Tour. The festival tour will stick mainly to the South, spending two nights at each stop in Louisiana, Alabama, Florida, South Carolina, Missouri, Kentucky, and Georgia.
“Rock The Country is for everyone who makes this country run and loves America. Nobody knows how to party like Small Town America,” Kid Rock said in a statement about the predominantly country music showcase.
The tour will also feature select appearances from Miranda Lambert (on two dates), Hank Williams Jr. (on two dates), Lynyrd Skynyrd, Nelly, Koe Wetzel, Brantley Gilbert, Travis Tritt, Lee Brice, Warren Zeiders, Big and Rich ft. Gretchen Wilson, Randy Houser, Uncle Kracker, Tyler Farr, Pecos & the Rooftops, and more. The lineup will vary by date, but Aldean and Kid Rock will appear on each stop.
Kid Rock’s latest musical release, the album Bad Reputation, arrived over a year ago, though he does have a collaboration with Dolly Parton coming up. Most of the buzz around the musician this year centered around his decision to shoot cases of beer with an assault rifle in response to Bud Light collaborating with a trans influencer.
Aldean has also made headlines in recent months, but his was at least about his music, though not any less controversial. In July, the country artist released the music video for his single “Try That in a Small Town,” in which he performs in front of a courthouse that was the site of a 1933 lynching. Aldean has spent many weeks since then defending the song and video.
The small towns featured on the 2024 Rock the Country festival tour include Gonzales, Louisiana; Ashland, Kentucky; Rome, Georgia; Ocala, Florida; Mobile, Alabama; Poplar Bluff, Missouri; and Anderson, South Carolina. The festival will run from April through July.
