Yesterday in Milan the first event organized by the C2C Festival was held after the premature death of Sergio Ricciardone, founder and director of the Turin Festival (here our memory).
The occasion wanted a historic friend of the festival, Jamie XX, freshly successful of his latest album on stage, In waves. And precisely this great friendship between the English producer and the C2C meant that the closure of his set contained a moment to remember Sergio.
Returning to the stage after finishing the set, Jamie launched No time no space by Franco Battiato, who had been brought to the C2C in 2014, whose intro was enriched by the artist with some phrases extracted from Ricciardone interviews. In the meantime, an image of Ricciardone applauded by all the audience in the room appeared on the screens.
Finished Battiato, Jamie concluded the set with There's a Light That Never Goes Outanother tribute (this less explicit) to Ricciardone who often told that he was dreaming of introducing a small room in his festival where, in couples, he could have entered to dance the celebration of the Smiths song. “Thanks Sergio”, the writing with which the evening then closed on the screens.
