Last December 1st, Carlo Accounts revealed the 30 artists competing at Sanremo Festival 2025. Among the many excluded, also i Jalissewhich for the 28th consecutive year received a “no”. However, the duo, as already done by Chiara Galiazzodecided to publish the discarded song, “No, no, no, no, no!”, a song that plays ironically on the long series of rejections.
Their irony had already emerged immediately after the announcement of the cast, when on social media they shared a video with two bottles of beer in their hands, which quickly went viral. “We are like this, playful and fun, sometimes provocative but without wanting to create controversy. We realized that the public has gotten to know us better and we are happy to share our lighter side too”, declared i Jalisse.
The song, different from their usual pieces, is a light and light-hearted pop, with a refrain that ironically reads: “No, they don't take us… no”. Despite the disappointment of yet another exclusion, the duo chose to face the moment with lightness and self-irony, as demonstrated by this new production.
These days, the song has been selected to receive a special mention at Lunezia Prize 2024 for its musical and literary value. The awards ceremony will be held on December 20th.
