The cause of death of Ethan Browne, Jackson Browne's eldest son, has been revealed. The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner confirmed yesterday that Browne died at the age of 52 due to “effects resulting from fentanyl, methamphetamine and lidocaine.” The death was accidental.
Jackson wrote about his son in an Instagram post late last year: «It is with deep sorrow that we report that on the morning of November 25, 2025, Ethan Browne, son of Jackson Browne and Phyllis Major, was found lifeless in his home and passed away. We ask for privacy and respect for the family during this difficult time.”
Born November 2, 1973, Ethan Browne grew up in Los Angeles. He worked as a model and appeared in the 1995 film Hackersin an episode of the television series Birds of Prey and in a small role in the 2004 romantic comedy When you least expect it (Raising Helen). In the music field, he founded the Spinside record label and was part of the duo Alain Zane with Cat Colbert. Their debut album Right Before Your Eyes it is from 2022.
