“I WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU”, THE INTERVIEW WITH ROCCUZZO: “It is in silence that I understand who I am”
Hi Roccuzzo, welcome to All Music Italia. How are you?
Hello lads! I'm very happy to meet you again. I am very well, I feel in a moment of balance and of great personal and artistic serenity.
I Will Take Care Of You is the title of your new single. Can you tell us about its genesis? What was the spark that made the ink overflow onto the white sheet?
Writing for me is a vital need, the most sincere way I have to give shape to my emotions.
In this case, everything started from Ohanamy French bulldog who has been an integral part of my life for five years. Last year she had a serious health problem and I really feared losing her. From that pain and that love this song was born, co-written with Giovanni Segreti Brunowith which I transformed everything I felt into music: fear, love and the desire to protect those I love.
Is there a person, in particular, to whom you would like to dedicate this song today?
I often dedicate it to my grandchildren, my grandmother and my mother. More generally, to my family. It's a song that talks about bonds, protection and that silent gesture of love that makes you feel safe even in the most difficult moments.
The song is a hymn to love in its deepest form: caring for others. And, in this regard, he recalls The Cure by Franco Battiato, of which – among other things – you published your own version in 2021. What does that song represent for you? We can define I Will Take Care Of You a spiritual daughter of his?
Battiato for me it was a lighthouse. His music and artistic elegance have always inspired me. The Cure It has a special place in my life: I dedicate it to my mother.
But I believe that I will take care of you is not his direct daughter: the writing of Battiato it is profoundly poetic, while mine finds strength in simplicity and everyday sincerity.
You sing: “I would like to protect you from all pain, in a world that runs and leaves your heart at homeIf you could paint this world, what image would appear on the canvas? To which artistic movement could the painting belong?
I would use a lot of gray, to represent haste and lack of listening. We live in a world that runs and never stops, leaving emotions behind.
But it is precisely when you stop to take care of someone – or yourself – that you find the meaning of life.
Perhaps my painting would belong to post-impressionism, where reality is filtered by emotions and every brushstroke has a heartbeat.
“I would like to protect you from the silence of those who cannot understand anything, from words that only want to hurt, from those who laugh at your fearsWhat impact has the silence of others had on your life?
The silence of others, at certain moments, was difficult to manage. But, over time, I've learned that gratitude is the key to transforming it: it allows you to see and experience things from another perspective.
Silence at night”it makes noise“, forcing us to deal with ourselves. What relationship do you have with silence today?
Today he is a friend. It is in silence that I can really listen to myself and understand who I am. In a world that makes too much noise, silence is a way to find the truth.
I Will Take Care Of You marks the beginning of a new artistic and professional path. Now, what's cooking?
Finally, I can say that I am experiencing a beautiful phase. After a period of stagnation, I found enthusiasm and direction again.
Today I am part of the JOSEBA Labela reality that allows me to experiment and grow. With Gianni Testa And Gianna Martorella I'm working on projects that go beyond music in the strict sense: we explore themes such as empathy, personal growth and music as therapy.
I have found a new artistic family, made up of people who deeply believe in my music and my path: Enzo Campagnoli supervises the project, while the song is produced by Arturo De Biasiwhich gave the piece an elegant and modern look.
All this creates a climate of trust and creativity that is reflected in the music and emotions I want to convey.
