“My father's diaries”documentary signed by Ado Hasanovic and presented in recent months around European cinemas, he transports us in August 1993. In that summer, Bekir Hasanović He gets a video camera, transforming it into the tool that will allow him to document everyday life in Srebrenica in the dark days of the war.
With his improvised troupe, Bekir captures images that reveal an unpublished portrait of a population suspended between despair and a surprising ability to remain anchored to reality.
His son I love from those videos – and by the diaries written by the same father – to reconstruct the paternal figure and investigate how Bekir survived the march of death and the genocide of Srebrenica.
The documentary accompanies us in the history of a father and a son who have never been able to fully face what they experienced.
When Iosonouncane He was called to work on the music of “my father's diaries”, the assembly, which lasted for about two years, had already been completed.
During the processing phase, many songs had been used which were to be replaced with an original soundtrack, without having to put your hand back on the assembly.
After a very first exploratory phase in which distorted improvisations had been proposed with different synthesizers, Iosonouncane And Ado Hasanovic They met for the first time in Bologna, spending two days in the studio to get to know each other and talk about the film.
The musical access to the film arose from some samples from the Requiem of Mozart, isolating individual harmonic passages and slowing them down dramatically. In a second moment on these samples, harmonic synthesizers stratifications were composed until, at a given moment, it was decided to bring out a mouth diamonds out of the case and to play the theme of the film, that of Bekir and Srebrenica.
The next step was the declination of the theme on various tools, to get to the final phase of the work where the music scene per scene were composed.
