Snoop Dogg
“On Feb. 2, 1998, I photographed Snoop Dogg for a Source magazine cover story. I'd previously shot Dr. Dre and E-40 for Source covers, so this was another exciting assignment. I rented a studio in Los Angeles for the shoot, and Snoop arrived a few hours late, pulling into the indoor parking spot in his Escalade. When he opened the door, a huge puff of smoke rolled out, straight out of a Cheech and Chong scene. The setup was straightforward, with a plain backdrop that I switched out with different colors. The shoot yielded some iconic images of Snoop at a peak moment in his career. At one point, as I was changing film, I turned around to see he had dozed off on the stool. I gave his shoulder a shake, and he woke up, saying, 'Yo man, I'm known for passing out at my photo shoots.'”
