Hi girls, welcome to All Music Italia. How are you?
Hi everyone! Well, what can I say… these days we find ourselves in a great emotional blender, with many new things and above all things to do. Thanks for the question, because it's never trivial.
Can you tell us how you met and why you decided to call yourself Synergy?
We met in a work context. We're both bartenders and it was my first day working at the bar Bodeguita Of Gambettola. An R&B song from the 2000s was playing on TV if I remember correctly and Aurora he mentioned two notes. We then looked at each other and during a break, in front of a pizza, we started chatting. Even before a working relationship, between us there is therefore a great friendship and, above all, a lot of synergy. Hence the name of our duo.
If you had to describe your artistic project with just three words, which would you choose?
Fresh, current and innovative.
Thus we arrive at Flamesong in competition at Sanremo Giovani 2024. “How much further there is to go”, how is the balance sheet so far? What feelings did you have during the auditions?
For us this is already a very small achievement. More than a point of arrival, we consider it a starting point and we are honored to bring a genre that is very often considered niche, namely R&B, to such an important stage. We are really happy that it arrived and that you liked it, because for us it is truly a great satisfaction.
We left the studio with so much joy and a toothy smile, because it went in the most spontaneous and true way possible. The most important thing is that we had fun and enjoyed the moment.
Flame it's a song with a strong R&B feel and a graffiti portraying Lauryn Hill appears in the video. Besides her, which artists have represented and still represent a point of reference for you?
Beyond Lauryn Hillthe artists who have represented a point of reference for us are Christina Aguilera, Stevie Wonder and Amy Winehousewhile currently in the musical panorama we are inspired by artists of the caliber of Jorja Smith And Sasha Keable.
Thinking about Festivalwhat is your first memory related to Sanremo?
We fell in love with the magic of that stage thanks to immortal songs like Di Sole and D'Azzurro by Giorgia. It's pure emotion.
What, instead, would it mean for you to detach one of the three passes for the New Proposals section of the Sanremo Festival 2025?
Moving forward would be an incredible opportunity. Not only because we believe in the song, but above all for the project, unique and courageous of its kind. To say that we would only be happy is an understatement.
Is there a superstitious ritual that you always do just before going on stage and that you will also do on this occasion?
Yes, we have a ritual haha. Usually, before giving a performance, we try to connect with ourselves by doing meditation. It is an act that calms us individually, brings us together and recharges us positively.
