The Hindsthe Spanish indie Rockers preferred by everyone, have just announced their triumphant fourth album entitled “Viva Hinds” and have already released the first single “Boom Boom Back”, written together with Beck.
Shortly after their debut, ten years ago, the band met an apparently insurmountable obstacle: she had to change her name from Deers to Hinds for legal reasons. But when their fans greeted them with “¡Viva Hinds!” At their concerts, the band immediately realized that what initially seemed like an end was actually only the beginning.
We arrive at 2023 and “Viva Hinds” was written by the co-founders, co-acting, co-colors and co-compattors Carlotta Cosials and Ana Perrote after a series of finals. After the release of their album “The Prettiest Curso” in 2020, they fell in a creative stall phase and the bassist and the drummer decided to leave the band. They also separated from their management, they lost the proceeds of the tour due to the blocks due to the pandemic and found themselves for the first time without a label. But when Perrote and Cosials gathered to write new music, it appeared clearly that their bond, so special that they describe themselves as “millionaires in friendship”, would have been all they needed to overcome all this.
“Viva Hinds” – the most complete, sonically adventurous, honest and celebratory record of the Hinds career – is only the beginning. “Viva Hinds”, which contains the first songs in the Spanish language of the band and collaborations with artists such as Beck and Grian Chatten dei Fontaines DC. Recorded in France, the album was produced by Pete Robertson (BeaBadoobee) and from the appointed to the Grammy Tom Roach and mixed by the winner of the Grammy Caesar Edmunds (The Killers, Wet Leg). In conjunction with the announcement of Viva Hinds, the band published the first single “Boom Boom Back”.
After the single “Coffee”, published previously and present in the album, “Boom Boom Back” is the first song that the Hinds have written for the album. The hypnotic song sees Beck's participation, encountered by chance in a film projection during a trip to Los Angeles. The music video that accompanies him, full of exuberance and the unmistakable charm of the Hinds, was shot in Hollywood and directed by the Perote and Cosials themselves. The energy that you breathe at a Hinds show is always palpable, and have started 2024 with several shows in the United Kingdom for the Independent Venue Week, followed by the SXSW in March, as well as two Sold-out shows at the Baby's All Right in New York. The next appointment is a sold out tour in London, Brighton, Paris, Monaco, Berlin and other cities this month. With “Viva Hinds”, the Hinds created the most successful album of their career, which celebrates their common history and confirms that the band is “in it for he long run”.
