While it might seem that the Sony PlayStation 5 was just released, it actually came out four years ago in Nov. 2020. However, Sony is releasing a new upgraded console for pro-level gamers.
Available for pre-order for $699.99, the Sony PlayStation 5 Pro (Digital Edition) are for gamers who want better graphics, detailed audio, and smoother motion when playing their favorite PS5 games.
Right now, the PS5 Pro is only available at PlayStation Direct, but pre-orders roll out to other retailers, like Target and Walmart, starting on Thursday, Oct. 10 for the same price. The console is set for release on Thursday, Nov. 7.
For 2024, the PS5 Pro is designed for better performance compared to the standard PS5. It offers gaming with 4K Ultra HD picture quality and enhanced AI-upscaling at a higher refresh rate of up to 120Hz for silky smooth and more fluid motion with no lag. For the PS5, you could only pick one or the other; either 4K video quality or 120Hz refresh rate, but with the PS5 Pro, you can choose both for more immersive gaming.
