The request to the intervene was simple but decisive: only Italian and Palestinian flags, no political acronym, no exploitation. Among those present Sigfrido Ranucci, Peter Gomez, Rula Jebreal, Moni Ovadia, Daniele Silvestri, Gemitaiz, Martina Martorano, Francesca Albanese, Margherita Vicar, Frenetik & Orang3 And Alessandro Mannarino. A chorality of voices united in a message of peace and collective responsibility.
Ghali and his “my house”: the message in music not in my name
The most unexpected presence was that of Ghali. The artist got on stage by surprise to perform My househis most direct and intense song against wars and indifference, which has become a sort of silent hymn in recent months for those who ask for justice for Palestine.
With his intervention Ghali He wanted to reiterate, once more, the power of music as a tool of dialogue, peace and reflection. “At a time when one of the greatest injustices in history is happening, seeing a square so full and so active fills my heart of hope. I think it is very important to start from culture and education. We have real weapons in hand, we can start from us“, He said.
Words that come from an artist who has made his cultural identity a central element of his own path, and who has been able to give voice to those who too often remain on the edge of the public debate.
A transversal square for a universal request
“Not in my name“He has shown how culture – the real one, that he does not fear to expose himself – can still be a space of real confrontation. In the square there were journalists, musicians, actors, activists and citizens. No party, only the desire to declare their dissent towards the ongoing violence and concretely support those who risk their lives in the territories affected by the war every day.
An event that, without proclamations, brought the value of the word, the gesture, responsibility to the center. And who saw in the item of Ghali One of his strongest and most sincere moments.
