THE Polite they revealed the single “There's no future in optimism“, Accompanied by a magnificent cinematographic video shot and directed by Benjy Kirkman. It is the first single from the band's new album,”Let All That We Imagine Be The Light ”, coming out on May 30th.
Talking about “There's no future in optimism”, Shirley Manson He said:
“I love the title. The band sent it to me and I thought: 'It's fantastic. I keep it.' But the text is a reaction to that title. Because if we allow our fatalism or to our negativity to really take over, we will collapse. George Floyd.
The new Garbage album, “Let All That We Imagine Be The Light”was recorded at Red Razor Sounds in Los Angelesin the study of Butch vig “grunge is dead”and in the Shirley Manson bedroom. The disc was produced by the band together with the historic sound engineer Billy Bush.
The album is unmistakably Polite: There are all the distinctive characteristics and traits for which they are known. Spigular guitars, precise and driving rhythms, cinematographic sound landscapes, all under the unmistakable voice of Shirley Manson and texts full of determination. It is the sound of a group at the height of one's creativity, which as always uses sound contrasts and atmospheres to create a disc that pulsates at the same time of light and darkness.
Speaking of the album, Manson adds: “This album speaks of what it means to be alive and what it means to face one's imminent destruction. It is full of hope. It is very tender towards what it means to be human. Our defects and our failures are still beautiful, even if they teach us that they are not. This is a tender and exciting album on the fragility of life.”
THE Polite are still composed of Four original members: Shirley Manson, Duke Erikson, Steve Marker and Butch Vig. In the 30 years since their training in 1995, they sold beyond 20 million records. Their unique sound, the writing of the songs and the explosive live performances inspired the adoration of the public all over the world, obtaining success in the rankings and the applause of criticism.
