Nexo Studios has published online the official trailer of “Franco Battiato. The long journey”, the first biographical film dedicated to the Sicilian artist. The project, directed by Renato De Maria and written by Monica Rametta, will arrive in theaters as a special event on February 2, 3 and 4, 2026.
“Franco Battiato. The long journey” retraces the human and creative journey of Franco Battiato, following his beginnings in Sicily, his arrival in Milan in the early Seventies and his subsequent return to his homeland. At the center of the story is the formation of a restless and experimental artistic identity, already marked by a profound spiritual tension, which develops in the context of an unrepeatable cultural ferment. The young Battiato is played by Dario Aita, the protagonist of a narrative that passes through the decisive moments of his career: the most radical sound research, the artistic acquaintances, the evenings shared with Giorgio Gaber and the evolution of a musical language destined to leave a profound mark on Italian culture. A central role is also reserved for the meetings that contributed to defining his path, from the friendship with Juri Camisasca and Giuni Russo to the historic partnership with the violinist and composer Giusto Pio.
