After the extraordinary success of Fabrizio De André – Free Prince – which brought 90,000 people to the theaters – the 2, 3 and 4 February 2026 arrives at the cinema, as a special event for Nexo Studios, Franco Battiato – The Long Journeysor: the film directed by Renato De Maria and written by Monica Ramettadedicated to one of the greatest singer-songwriters of Italian music.
“FRANCO BATTIATO – THE LONG JOURNEY” ARRIVES TO THE CINEMA
Co-produced by Rai Fiction And Casta Diva Picturesthe biopic follows the young man's journey Battiato – played by Dario Aita – from Sicily to his arrival in Milan in the 1970s, exploring the crucial moments of his path to success and accompanying him until his return to his beloved homeland.
But that's not all! Franco Battiato – The Long Journey in fact it also tells the story of the singer-songwriter's evolution from radical experimentation to pop success, passing through the evenings with Giorgio Gaber And Ombretta Colli and putting his true journey at the center, the search for the inner self, which also passes through various encounters: from friendship with Fleur (Elena Radonicich) to the relationship with her mother (Simona Malato), from the friendship with Juri Camisasca (Ermes Frattini) e Giuni Russo (Nicole Petrelli) to the historic partnership with Right Pio (Giulio Forges Davanzati).
The result? An intimate and visionary story – soon also aired on Rai 1 – in which music becomes the language of a constant tension towards the transcendent, beyond any form of celebrity.
And, speaking of music, we also find it in the film Anna Castiglia and the extraordinary participation of Joan Thiele.
The original music, however, is by Vittorio Cosma with Giuvazza Maggiore.

The list of cinemas that will screen the film will be available shortly on nexostudios.it, while pre-sales will open on Friday 9 January.
