Frah Quintale's music has become an adult. It is proof of it his latest album Own lovealmost a concept on the awareness of emotions, distributed with elegance and lightness on a never banal pop pentagram. These are songs that tell the search for balance, the need to let go and live the present, without too many performance anxieties. That the balance has found it, it is clear from the Gentile Karma with which Frah Quintale welcomes me in a Warner meeting room set up like the cover of the disc, complete with a sofa and painting made by him: he is happy with the music he has made, ready to play it live with a tour in the spring of 2026, and has a pacified but determined smile of those who have learned to look inside, (Spoiler, in the world everything goes to pieces).
Own love It is a disc that warms, they will be the soul, the funk and the R&B, it will be Frah's karma, or it will really be that while the whole world is in pieces, there is a need for soundtrack to feel good at least an hour, only with ourselves.
You talked about this new album as the end of a healing process. What did you sick of?
I found myself in a quite disruptive relationship. I had to reconstruct things using music as therapy: it was an outlet valve and the beginning not only of the healing process, but also of a path where I learned to get to know myself better. Staying alone gave me the opportunity to devote myself to myself, to unreal knots.
Often the artistic process takes place alone …
This time the writing process was shared with the band, some traces were born during sessions in Tuscany and Liguria. But it was all that was before marking the route: traveling alone, even for a month, walking at night.
In addition to the love that gives the title to the disc, there is very kind, respectful, progressive love: RegardlessAnd it is a song that speaks of how important it is to take a step back, let a person go to the end of a relationship, renouncing awareness of love. A rarity with respect to the idea of possession implicit in many pop songs …
I learned about my skin that when a love ends it can be reborn in another form, and that it is wrong to hold it back, you cannot force something that is in change.
The texts of Own love show some maturity. Has your music also grown, has it become more adult?
They are a little more aware of what I want, even at the sound level. The real difference was to work on an idea for an entire disc, as if it were a concept, rather than writing track after track. The tracklist is a beautiful Russian mountain of emotions and that's what I tried to return to the listener.
In addition to the featuring of Joan Thiele and Colapesce, you collaborated in writing with Coez and Franco 126. Did you group with the consolidated names of the indie? Can we still call it indie music? Spotify indexing you like this …
I would say more Italian music. The names you mentioned are those of people who have been close to me in the last ten years, since the beginning of my solo path in 2016. Next year it will be ten years and this album represents the closure of many circles.
We talked about the path of self -analysis that contributed to the construction of this album. Perhaps this is why the “outside” is missing in the album, a look at what happens in the world. Apart from some steps in which you sing about a world that goes apart …
They are like the neighborhood's mother -in -law: I look out the window, I look out and then I go back to writing. And I see that it does not pull a great air outside. Certainly at the time of writing I was more concentrated to solve my troubles.
Today many artists say that we cannot fail to talk about what happens in Palestine …
You can also make you understand, without necessarily saying specific things by thread and sign. When I sing “this world falls apart as you do well live”, the first postponement that comes to you anyway is Palestine. Even a single sentence is really enough in a song to make you also understand how I see things, as I interpret the topicality.

1 hour of air 1 hour of anxiety (with the featuring of Tony Boy) speaks of depression, also as a disease of the show society …
In this super performative society he does not pull a good air, but the piece also says that those who love you will be there waiting for you. One of my fortunes is to have combined something in music at 28 years old, instead of 18, when I already knew how to select what made me feel good and what did not. Then there is also the fact that I am very stubborn, and when I find something toxic on my path I do everything to get rid of it.
The painting in the cover is yours. How do these two artistic expressions, music and painting coexist and talk?
Writing is my therapy, painting is my meditation, it helps me to empty my mind.
The toolbox you painted is a metaphor …
It is a metaphor for being open: when you open a box of tools it is super disordered, and it is a bit like when you end up a relationship and you are confused, disordered, but you are able to learn to recognize what your tools, your strength and weaknesses are. After this album – precise, it is not that I am Dalai Lama – I found a balance, for me now.
You adjusted.
I have placed things, but there is always a need to make maintenance.

It is a more analogous album than the previous ones …
Yes, I worked more on the pieces at the embryonic level, I tried to make them stand even without large productions. One of my favorite disc pieces is Nails, A song that was born guitar and voice, to which I then added more but that stands also in the initial version.
One of the few representatives of the new scene you collaborated with is Tony Boy. Could he be the new Frah Quintale?
It is a nice pen, we frequented when it arrived in Milan. We have a similar attitude, he is one who knows where he wants to go, humbly, with his head down.
There is a record that has influenced more than others Own love?
NEVER EUGH by Daniel Caesar. He is a Canadian R&B singer, and his 2023 album I consumed it: it served me to understand things about me, both artistic and personal level.
