For 61% of young DJs, social numbers count more than musical talent. This is what emerges from a survey promoted by the Pete Tong DJ Academy and presented in the context of the International Music Summit which ends today in Ibiza.
The survey involved 15 thousand people between DJ and Producer. As reported Mixmagthe clear majority thinks that “today social numbers count more than musical talent”, a bitter affirmation. As a French DJ said, “it's as if every post were a test. If it goes badly, you feel a failed ».
A similar majority, 62%, considers the world of electronic music “a closed club”, but 35% remain optimistic and continue to believe that perseverance pays and allows you to emerge.
Questions were also asked on the theme of mental health. 52% of interviewees tried anxiety relating to his business and had episodes of Burn-out, 31% thought of giving up music in the last year.
