Footage has shown that Donald Trump’s Super Bowl Party aired Bad Bunny’s halftime show instead of Kid Rock’s, and some fans have criticised him for making “hypocritical” comments at the Puerto Rican superstar.
Bad Bunny headlined the halftime show at the Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara on Sunday (February 8), and became the first Latin male artist, and the first artist performing primarily in Spanish, ever to take the prestigious slot.
His set celebrated Latin music and included an impressive number of guest appearances, including Pedro Pascal, Cardi B, Jessica Alba, Karol G, Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin.
Ahead of the slot, there was controversy over the decision to enlist Bad Bunny for the Super Bowl halftime show, with the singer coming under personal attack from the MAGA movement, and from Donald Trump, who called the decision “crazy” and claimed that he had “never heard” of him.

Later, Turning Point USA, founded by the late Charlie Kirk, confirmed that it would be holding an ‘All American Halftime Show’ at the same time with Kid Rock headlining, and White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt insisted that the “president would much prefer a Kid Rock performance over Bad Bunny”.
Since then, footage has emerged of the president at a Super Bowl watch party in Palm Beach, and it can be seen that Bad Bunny’s performance was shown on the screens in the room, not the alternative performance from Kid Rock.
The moment has got people talking, with many highlighting how they were surprised to see Trump not watching the Turning Point show.

“Footage from inside Trump’s golf club Super Bowl party reveals the Bad Bunny half time show played on the big screens. What a bunch of hypocrites,” one person wrote on X, while another added: “They didn’t want [people] to watch and see reality. Hence why they created an alternative show while the politicians watched the show.”
“Lmao even they didn’t wanna watch the other one,” someone else quipped.
After the performance, Trump hit out at Bad Bunny again, writing on Truth Social that the halftime show felt like a “slap in the face” for America.
“It makes no sense, is an affront to the Greatness of America, and doesn’t represent our standards of Success, Creativity, or Excellence,” he said. “Nobody understands a word this guy is saying, and the dancing is disgusting, especially for young children that are watching from throughout the U.S.A., and all over the World.”

The latter part of the comments, referring to the style of dancing seen at the Super Bowl halftime show, have sparked some backlash from people online too – with some highlighting that the watch party he attended at the Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida featured dancers wearing little clothing too.
“Trump complained about the “disgusting” dancing during the Bad Bunny Super Bowl half time show. However, Trump’s guests were recently cheering on women entertainers dancing for them at Mar-a-Lago. Why is it only ok for women to dance at Trump’s club?” one account posted.
“The dancers at the Bad Bunny show were also not dressed like strippers,” another person replied to the post, and someone else added: “It’s only “disgusting” when he doesn’t control the room. When it’s at his club and on his terms, suddenly it’s entertainment.”

Yep. All that maga was lied to again. They didn’t want them to watch and see reality. Hence why they created an alternative show while the politicians watched the show. If you wanna stay blind stay blind.

I guess because it’s a party for adults unlike the superbowl where children watched. It’s called a place and a time.

But children also watched kid rock sing about drugs and hookers.

This is quite different than the writhing and grinding of the Super Bowl show. Not even close.

As well as Trump, another who criticised Bad Bunny’s appearance at the Super Bowl was Jake Paul – who claimed that the Puerto Rican superstar “publicly hates America” and encouraged his followers not to watch the performance.
His brother, Logan, then came forward to clarify that he doesn’t have the same stance, and was much more supportive of the choice of headliner.
“I love my brother but I don’t agree with this,” he wrote on X. “Puerto Ricans are Americans and I’m happy they were given the opportunity to showcase the talent that comes from the island.”
Ahead of the ‘All-American Halftime Show’, Kid Rock defended his decision to take part, saying that he did so for the parts of the country who felt “underserved entertainment-wise” by this year’s Super Bowl Halftime show.
After receiving criticism from country stars Zach Bryan and Kacey Musgraves and more, as well as accusations of lip-syncing, Kid Rock claimed that he would be recording another live performance at his home to prove that he was singing live.
