Feid and Premier’s “Le Pido a Dios” marked the first time the DJ had ever collaborated with a Latin artist
Feid closed out the 2023 Latin Grammys with an energetic performance that featured hiphop legend DJ Premier. The Colombian artist opened his set with an acoustic version of his song “Prohibidox” about forbidden love. Then, DJ Premier dropped the beat for their collaboration “Le Pido a Dios.” The hip-hop producer showed love for Feid’s country by shouting out, “¡Qué chimba, Colombia!” The stage glowed in the Feid’s signature color of green.
As he spit the bars in his swaggering song, his rumored girlfriend Karol G was shown singing and dancing along from her seat. It was a cool and timely performance considering the 50th anniversary of hip-hop this year.
Feid is continuing to capitalize on his breakthrough success of last year’s Feliz Cumpleaños Ferxxo Te Pirateamos El Álbum. Since the leak and subsequent release of the LP in September 2022, the Colombian singer positioned himself as one of this year’s most-streamed Latin acts behind Bad Bunny, Peso Pluma, and Karol G. Feid’s success rolled over into the Latin Grammy Awards with six nominations, including Best Urban Music Album. His viral features on Ozuna’s “Hey Mor” and Yandel’s “Yandel 150” also added to his nominations haul.
DJ Premier collaborated with a Latin artist for the first time when he joined Feid’s song “Le Pido a Dios.” Feid’s publicist Albert Piedrahita, who also goes by his DJ name Littlerok, served as an A&R for the song when he brought both acts together in New York City. That collaboration was included on last December’s EP Sixdo and it also received a nomination for Best Rap/Hip Hop Song. In September, Feid followed that up with his latest album Mor, No Le Temas a la Oscuridad, which boasted features from Rema, Sean Paul, Ñengo Flow, Ryan Castro, and Cupido. Last month, Feid featured on “Perro Negro” from Bad Bunny’s Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va a Pasar Mañana album, which opened at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.
