With this song, dedicated to my friend and colleague Michael Blackbirdthe artist thus completes the puzzle started more than a month ago with the first of five live sessions published with the aim of valorising live music and putting the artist and, above all, the musicians back at the centre.
“Kilometres” It is the most important part of the journey FEDERICO on an artistic level, in terms of numbers and, above all, emotional; a dedication to his friend and artist Michele Merlo, who passed away in June 2021, whom the singer-songwriter wanted to remember with a song that describes the path, real and metaphorical, that linked them through “kilometers” made of life, songs and dreams.
There deluxe edition Of “BLACKOUT” includes five bonus tracks rearranged live in full band and recorded and mixed at the Grammy Award winner's historic studio Thomas Colliva.
The tracks were released on Spotify and all digital stores on a weekly basis, every Friday starting from July 5th, and thus enriched the recording project week after week. The idea for the deluxe edition was created together with the instrumental jazz funk group Planet Butterto whom FEDERICO he entrusted himself with the entire rearrangement of the songs, which he will bring in this new key also in his next live performances.
FEDERICO BARONI
Federico Baroniborn in 1993, is an artist from Romagna who was born and raised in Rimini until he was 18, before moving first to Rome, where he began his musical career as a busker, and then to Milan, where he has been living and residing for 4 years. He approached music in 2013, thanks to a two-month trip to England, during which he discovered a still little-known Ed Sheeran. Thanks to him, he fell in love with street music and his way of making it unique with the use of the loop station, which together with his inseparable guitar becomes Federico's recognizable element.
In 2016 he returned to Italy and began playing every weekend in Via del Corso. He uploaded his first videos on YouTube and was immediately noticed by the editorial staff of “X Factor”, in which he participated, reaching the Bootcamp phase.
In just a few years he became one of the most followed buskers in Italy, helping to spread the figure of the street artist in our country. A status that would be recognized in the years to come both by the press and by various artists, and which would lead him to be called to enter the “Amici” school in 2018. Once he left the program, Federico's real artistic journey began, and he released his very first single “Explain me”. This was followed by his signing with Artist First, with whom he released several singles and, in April 2019, his first album “FORGET ABOUT IT”which he presents with several instore events throughout the country, as well as with a special “outstore” event (the first in Italy) in Piazza Duomo in Milan and with a five-date street tour. Over the years Federico has grown as an artist playing on important stages and opening concerts for James Morrison and Max Gazzè. In 2021 he kicks off a new recording project with the release of the single “Jackpot” and the creation of the first Double Vertical Music Video in the world, awarded with a special mention at the Vertical Movie Festival in Rome. In the same year he signed an important record deal with Warner Music Italia and from that moment on he published a series of singles with which he highlighted his extreme versatility. Among these, “Just to be with her”in duet with Folcast, and “Kilometres”the dedication to his friend Michele Merlo, a song written together with the precious signature of RAIGE, which will become the most important song of his career. In June 2022 he published “Until late”a single accompanied by the creation of the world's first video made in collaboration with RayBan, through the use of latest-generation smart glasses.
After many musical and life experiences, Federico returns with his new album “BLACKOUT”an ambitious project that the artist has already had the opportunity to preview on the stage of “Project X” and on stage of the “Plug Mi”.
