There are sentences that are not created to “solve”, but to stay. Federica Carta starts again from there with Please don't crynew single available from Friday 6 February. A song that chooses measure, crosses fragility without raising its voice and puts presence in place of answers.
Federica Carta come back with Please don't cry
Please don't cry comes from a simple phrase, repeated until it becomes necessary. It is not a promise, nor a “convenient” consolation: it is a way of being there when the pain has already run its course and there is no longer any margin to intervene, except by staying.
Daily and withheld images flow through the text, the snow on the roofs, a house of mirrors, the gaze of others, which depict an exposed fragility and a sort of emotional immobility, in which identity falters. Alongside the desire to lend a hand, however, a clearer awareness emerges: recognizing a limit, accepting that taking care does not mean canceling oneself. It is in that tension, between staying and changing, that the song finds its balance.
On a musical level Please don't cry moves between alternative pop and drum & bass suggestions, crossed by electronic and new R&B influences. Writing remains essential, it leaves room for words and their meaning, without weighing down emotions with useless superstructures.

Collaboration with Fasma
The meaning of this restart is explained by herself Federica Cartawhich during the years of recording silence describes a passage of personal and artistic transformation:
“In these years without releasing music I thought it was all over, and it was only when I allowed the light to come back inside me that I met people who allowed me to express myself, open up, create, believe again – says Federica – I spent years chasing a version of myself that I no longer recognised.
I understood that staying where you are is scarier than trying to change things, and it's when you find the courage to sweep away your limits that life pays you back.
I no longer wonder if I'm doing the right thing, I just know.”
The recent collaboration with Fasma in the song Folly is the backdrop to this piece that marks a restart: produced by GG, Please don't cry opens a new phase of the artist's journey, oriented towards a more intimate writing and a more authentic aesthetic. The single is signed by Federica Carta together with Tiberio Fazioli (Fasma) with Luigi Zammarano (GG) in composition.
