An unprecedented career, the best MC ever. Eminem continues to influence entire generations of rappers for over twenty-five years. From the provocations of his early days, through the autobiographical film “8 Mile” (2002) which earned him the Oscar Prize (“Best Original Song” with “Lose Yourself”), EMINEM has always reflected in his music on his own psyche and the American one, with lucidity and merciless irony.
Real name Marshall Mathers, raised in a working-class family in Detroit, Eminem was born in 1972. After several “battles” and “rap competitions” (as also shown in the film “8 Mile”), the artist was noticed by the then CEO of Interscope Records, Jimmy Iovine and by the producer Dr. Dre, with whom a very long collaboration was born. His first albums were unprecedented successes: “The Slim Shady LP” (1999) and “The Marshall Mathers LP” (2000) make him one of the biggest stars of world music ever. Politics and society are the themes he loves to explore, but his music is not only a social denunciation that digs deep into the heart of America, but it is also a scream of relief, a form of satire and rebellion.
Then followed the albums “The Eminem Show” (2002), “Encore” (2004), “Relapse” (2009), “Recovery”(2010) with the unforgettable hit “Love the Way You Lie” in collaboration with Rihanna“The Marshall Mathers LP 2” (2013), “Revival” (2017), “Kamikaze” (2018) and “Music To Be Murdered By” (2020). His list of hits is endless: “The Real Slim Shady”, “Like Toy Soldiers”, “Stan” with Dido, “Without Me”, “Not Afraid”, “The Monster” with Rihanna and many others.
The American newspaper Rolling Stone he inserted it “among the 100 greatest musical artists of all time” is between “the 100 best authors ever”. In his career won a record amount of 15 Grammy Awards8 American Music Awards, 17 Billboard Music Awards and 1 Academy Award. In November 2022 he was included in the “Rock and Roll Hall of Fame”. With 11 studio albums released, Eminem is one of the best-selling artists in music history with over 220 million copies sold worldwide.. In the United States, he has achieved 50 platinum records and 10 number ones on the charts with his albums.
