Doechii Advocated for LGBTQ RIGHTS During an impressioned speech at the glad media awards. While Accepting The Award for Outstanding Music Artist, Doechii Referenced the Organization's Principles of “Acceptance, Inclusive, and Empowerment” and Decaring That America isn'T showing enough of Those virtues for LGBTQ+ People.
“Those are the Same Things I Strongly Believe in and Advocate For and That Continue To Propel Me Forward-Espencially Now That Hard-Won Cultural Change and Rights For Transgender People and the LGBTQ Community Have Been Threaten,” She Said. “And I am disgusted. Disgusted. But i want to say that we are here and we are not going anywhere.”
Elsewhere in the Speech, Doechii Credited Previous Outstanding Music Artist Winners, noting, “I Thrilled at Being Recognized with A Prestigious Award by Glam and to Be Joining Prior Honorees Such As Renee [Rapp]Lady Gaga, Lil Nas X, Sam Smith and Janelle Monáe, “Adding,” This is a Huge and Special Moment As Well Because Glam is celebrating it 40th anniversary This Year, Which is super fab. ”
And She Also Echoed Her Grammys Speech with Words of encouragement: “[Do] Not Let Anyon Ever Block Your Dreams… i Just Want to encourage you guys to stay Connected with one another. Stay passed. Stay Focused. Keep Your Chin up. Be kind, and be fab! “
The Glaad Award is Just The Latest Hardware For Doechii, Who Won A Best Rap Album Grammy for Alligator Bites Never Heal and was recently Named Billboard's 2025 Woman of the Year.
