The time has come for the Cruentation to get to the debut disc.
The quartet was born from the union of some members already known for military in other Boston bands such as Witch Tomb and above all Embyonic Cryptopathhia (name that Goregrind fans remember well, especially for the split with the French Blue Holocaust); The proposed genre is a massive black/death, which is very reminiscent of the profanas but with a much more oriented sound towards Death Metal.
In a nutshell, take the band led by Paul Ledney, remove that often very mixed distortion but keep the structure of the elementary and incisive pieces: the result will be what we can hear in this “Damned Fallen Angels”.
The strength lies in the sound of guitars: granite, powerful but never cacophonic. Already at the first notes of the initial “Horrible Manuscript” it is an element that will make the entire job overall very convincing. The composition has not changed almost a comma from their eponymous eponymous eponym, showing a band that has a tested formula and prefers to remain on its steps rather than varying a minimum.
The slowdowns in pieces such as “Presbyter” and “Master's Perversity” are also very effective, but when less is expected, in the final, an almost punk moment comes as “dagger in My Heart”, which in its incredible simplicity is the most memorable piece.
Although “Damned Fallen Angels” is not distinguished to have a title who knows how inviting, nor the same Cruentations to have a very convincing moniker, their first album is very enjoyable and also very smooth: in an era where the extreme records are often often very heavy to digest is a great point in their favor.
We hope to see them live sooner or later in Europe to understand if even live they can give us emotions.
