From Friday 11th October out on all digital platforms and on vinyl “Iddu – Sicilian letters“, the first soundtrack written and composed by Colanderfor the film of the same name, presented at the Venice Film Festival 2024where he won the Soundtrack Star Award 2024 as best soundtrack.
To anticipate its release, the first song extracted from the album, “Happy He Who Is Not Yet Born“, an instrumental track that marks the solo return of Colander after 7 years.
The new project comes after an initial experience of Colander with Dimartino in the world of cinema: in 2023 he made his debut as an actor and screenwriter in their first cult movie “The Spring of My Life“, winner at Silver Ribbons of the prizes like Best Soundtrack and theHamilton Behind The Camera 2023.
The entire soundtrack is written and arranged by Colanderwith the collaboration of Federico Nardellithe Master's bows David Rossi, Alessandro Bottachiari on the trumpet, the choir Schola Gregoriana Mediolanensi and Ivan Antonio Rossi on mixing and mastering.
With “IDDU – Sicilian Letters”, out for Number One/Sony Music, Colander combines the tradition of Italian music for the big screen with contemporaneity and innovation; the music tells us about an unpublished, occult and oppressive Sicily, where it is difficult to see the sun.
The film, out in theaters from Thursday 10 October, is written and directed by Fabio Grassadonia And Anthony Square starring Elio Germano And Toni Servillo.
The singer-songwriter's last album, before this new project, was “Lux eternal beach“, released in November last year, paired with Dimartinowith whom he has been collaborating since 2020, the year in which their first album “The mortals“, also containing the hit brought to the Sanremo Festival “Very light music“, certified 5x platinum.
