The record will arrive on June 7 featuring the previously released single “Von Dutch”
Club Charli XCX will open on June 7, when the singer and songwriter unleashes her pulsating new studio album, Brat. The album’s release date arrives nearly two months after she announced it with its neon green minimalist cover artwork and chaotic lead single, “Von Dutch.” Charli is keeping her energy high in the lead-up to the summer release with two new singles and the complete Brat tracklist.
“Club Classics” and “B2b” arrive as a double-single released highlighting the thesis statement for the album: Charli just wants to party. “Put your hands up and dance / Yeah, I’m gonna dance all night, that’s right / All night / Never gonna stop till the morning light,” she chants on “Club Classics,” which shouts out the late pop producer Sophie, close collaborator A.G. Cook, and fiancé George Daniel.
“B2B” finds the musician in a loop sonically and mentally as she yearns to break an unproductive cycle. “I don’t wanna fall right back to us / Maybe you should run right back to her,” she suggests on the repetitive chorus. In the song’s sole verse, she sings: “Took a long time / Breaking myself down / Building myself up / Repeating it.”
Brat will follow up on Charli’s pure pop album Crash, which arrived in 2022. “I was born to make dance music.. i came from the clubs.. xcx6 is the album i’ve always wanted to make,” she wrote about the new record on X (formerly Twitter) earlier this year. “I love you angels i love partying with you and i love all of you who wanted to be there but couldnt. xcx6 is a club record and i cant wait to party around the world with you all.”
