Bob Dylan has published a tribute to Garth Hudson, the band keyboard player, remembering him as a “driving force” of the group.
«I'm sorry to hear the news of Garth Hudson's death. He was a splendid boy and the real driving force of the band, “wrote Dylan. «Just listen to the original registration of The Weight to realize it ».

The post comes almost a week after Hudson, the band's multi -instrumentalist, died at the age of 87 at the Ten Broeck Center for Rehabilitation & Nursing north of New York (at this link our memory). Jan Haust, Hudson's longtime friend and colleague, confirmed his death in Rolling Stone on January 21st. He did not want to reveal the cause of the death, but said that Hudson “died serenely” and that “it was a day of music and hugs”.
In an archive interview Dylan remembers having shocked by seeing Hudson perform. The two worked together several times until the end of the seventies. “The wonderful thing of working with Dylan was the imagination of his texts,” Hudson once said. “I was allowed to play with these words.”
