It comes out today, Friday 6th September, “I'm waiting for you“, the band's fourth single Sequoiawith distribution The Orchard.
The members of the group did not choose this name by chance, it has a meaning of great value for them. In fact, they identify themselves with three different genres, which metaphorically compose the tree, that is, their identity: they have their roots deeply rooted in Italian singer-songwriter music, their robust bark in alternative rock and their thick branches in the constant punk vein that accompanies them. The result is enclosed in songs that mix 90s rock sounds with classic Italian songwriting.
sequoia, I'm waiting for you: meaning of the song
“In a society that has effectively abolished the option of failure, a hymn to life as magnificent losers and the perennial desire for redemption, inevitably projected towards a new romantic defeat, sung at the top of one's lungs.”
“I'm waiting for you” is a song dedicated to the “chronic losers“: in a world where one no longer has the right to make mistakes, it is as if even a simple mistake becomes an act of rebellion.
A text that in its simplicity finds a sincere writing, pervaded by strong images, accompanied by a sound rich in emotion; the single is an anthem that challenges the canons of normality, mixing the desire for redemption with a romanticism of other times.
The song, led by the production of Matthew Cantalupiis available from today on all digital platforms, click here to listen to it.
