Ariana Grande‘s relationship with touring may be complicated, but her connection to performing live isn’t. On Tuesday, the musician shared an orchestral live performance video of her Eternal Sunshine album opener “Intro (End of the World).” Joined by a 10-piece band, Grande reimagines the record as she gears up to share performances of six more album tracks.
The live version of “Intro (End of the World)” appears on Eternal Sunshine (Slightly Deluxe and Also Live), out now. The extended edition of the album also includes new renditions of “Don’t Wanna Break Up Again,” “Eternal Sunshine,” “Yes, And?,” “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait for Your Love),” and “Imperfect for You.” Each song will receive an accompanying performance visual.
“Wanted to surprise you all with one more Eternal Sunshine related something before i head back into my bubble and meet you over the rainbow next month… so i performed seven songs (from ag7) with this wonderful group of musicians, in celebration of seven months of Eternal Sunshine,” Grande wrote on Instagram. “The videos will be coming out one at a time, each day this week. Peaches says thank you for all of your love and that she cannot wait to see you again later.”
The releases bring the total Eternal Sunshine deluxe track list to 24 tracks. It includes the original 13 songs, plus remixes of “Yes, And?” and “Supernatural” with Mariah Carey and Troye Sivan, respectively. The official Brandy and Monica remix of “The Boy Is Mine” also appears on the album alongside an acoustic recording of “Imperfect for You.” Barring “Saturn Returns Interlude,” the deep cut “True Story” is the only song to not be updated with a remix, acoustic version, or live performance.
Earlier this year, Grande teased a lengthy album era for Eternal Sunshine, writing on Instagram: “I cannot wait for everything that is yet to come within this eternal sunshine cycle (that has only just begun & may it never end).”
Grande has more live appearances on the horizon. Later this month, the musician will host Saturday Night Live with Stevie Nicks as musical guest. The gig comes as she leans fully into promo mode for the film adaptation of Wicked, in which she plays Glinda. The film releases in theaters on Nov. 22.
