Angelo Branduardi celebrates 50 years of career with a 4-CD box set entitled “Santi e malandrini”, containing all of his best musical production. The box will be released on November 15th in format digipack. On the occasion of this anniversary, Branduardi gives us an unreleased song, already presented live, entitled “Piccolo David” (see the video below).
Here's how the Lombard minstrel presents this publication: “On the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the beginning of my career, I decided to treat myself with this extraordinary collection which, in four CDs, celebrates my musical journey, in its own unique way. In The first three CDs, starting from the skinny boy who sang 'King of Hope' in 1974, will lead to the white-haired man I am today work, but also rediscovering some rare recordings, perhaps less known, but equally loved by me and by those who have walked with me over the years. The journey ends with 'Kyrie (Lord have mercy)', never published until today on physical support, and with 'Piccolo David', a completely new song. The fourth CD is dedicated to the music of 'Futuro Antico', the series that I created and cultivated over the years to celebrate the music of the medieval and Renaissance periods, offering a personal but philologically accurate reinterpretation of the masterpieces of that era. All I can do is wish a good listen to those who already know me and know everything about me (and maybe they will be able to rediscover something that they had missed) and also to those who don't know me and want to do so, this is a good opportunity”.
