Cohen and the Real Housewives franchise were engulfed in several claims from former show stars
Andy Cohen has been cleared in an investigation over several former claims Real Housewives stars leveled against him and the franchise, according to a report from The Hollywood Reporter. Meanwhile Bravo renewed Cohen's late-night show Watch What Happens Live through next year.
“The outside investigation into the recent allegations made by Brandi Glanville and Leah McSweeney against Andy Cohen has now been completed, and the claims were found to be unsubstantiated,” a spokesperson for Bravo told the publication on Thursday.
Prior to the investigation, TRHW faced accusations from multiple former stars: Eboni Williams brought forward allegations of racism, Glanville and Caroline Manzo brought separate sexual harassment claims, and McSweeney alleged that she was plied with alcohol despite her efforts to maintain her sobriety.
Cohen addressed the accusations in a cover story with THR this week. Regarding Williams' racism claims about her, he said he couldn't “speak to her about her particular experience about her.”
Manzo sued Bravo earlier this year accusing Glanville of sexually assaulting her. Glanville suggested Cohen over that he sent her a message inviting her to watch him sleep with another Bravo star. He apologized and called the remark a joke.
In February, McSweeney sued Bravo and Cohen, claiming in the suit that Cohen and the network “established a rotten workplace culture that uniquely depended on getting its employees to consume alcohol.”
Regarding those latter claims, Cohen told THR that “sure, there are people who drink. There are many people who never drink. We don't force anyone to do anything.”
“I'm super proud of what we've built and of everybody who's been a part of it,” Cohen said. “I think most people involved with these shows have been very grateful for the platform, but there will always be a few with complaints. Obviously, it's no fun to be a target. So, yes, it's hurtful. But I have no regrets about the way I've handled anything.”
