On Friday, adidas treated all reggae heads with a soft spot for soccer to a new apparel, footwear, and accessories collection inspired by Bob Marley‘s life, music, and heritage, created in close collaboration with the Bob Marley Foundation. What this means: If you know the entire discography of the legendary musician and Rastafari movement frontman by heart, you can now wear this good musical taste on your sleeve by shopping adidas’ latest.
During his 36 years, Marley spoke adoringly about soccer. According to the Foundation, a Jamaican non-profit founded by his wife to carry on Marley’s legacy and provide philanthropic support to local communities, the sport was his biggest passion outside of music. “Football is part of I. When I play, the world wakes up around me,” he once said, which makes adidas’ nine-piece release a natural and fitting collaboration.

“To bring [Bob Marley’s legacy] to life [in] this collection, we worked through old photographs and clothing from his tour days,” Sam Handy, adidas Football’s general manager, shared in a press release. “It was an incredible privilege and ultimately inspired us to build an apparel range that celebrates his music, love of football, and the spirit of Jamaica.”
Of particular note is the Bob Marley Gazelle Jamaica Shoe featured in the capsule, which reimagines one of adidas’ hero silhouettes in bright yellow and green, with a touch of ruby lining the classic Three Stripes overlays on the upper. The German brand’s signature, thick rubber outsole is present here, too: doling out traction on surfaces from the turf to the city sidewalk. Available in men’s and women’s sizes, the sleek, suede-powered stepper has the name “Bob” written in loopy letters, which adds another layer of meaning to the shoe.

The phrase “Football is Freedom” also makes multiple appearances in the adidas x Bob Marley drop. We’re big fans of the Bob Marley Originals T-Shirt in black, on which the motto lives in unity (a kind of “One Love” unity, you could say) with adidas’ trefoil logo and a stylized photo of Marley overlaid on a background of red and green: a traditional Rasta color palette.

Whether you choose to wear the soft graphic tee in conjunction with baggy jeans or sweats is your call, but we think it just might do its best job next to adidas’ Bob Marley Originals Shorts. With a longer inseam than the adidas Adicolor Classics Sprinter Shorts that were ranked the third hottest product of Q2 2025 by the Lyst Index, these babies sit at the intersection of music and athletics once again — crafted out of breathable jacquard, offering a secure fit via drawstring closure, and bearing Marley’s first name in embroidered form.

There are two more iterations of graphic tees to be found (one with a vinyl record design that has a soccer ball at center and one marked by a collage of Marley playing footy), as well as a vintage-looking jersey for repping your allegiance to the King of Reggae on and off the field; a hoodie; an emerald-hued jacket; and a zipper-equipped bowler bag that can hold anything from a change of clothes for practice or a selection of your go-to ganja accessories.
Though the Bob Marley Foundation didn’t say as much, it’s what the man would have wanted.
