Aaron is one of the talents that have animated this year Friends of Maria De Filippiwho made it all the way to the semifinals where he stopped his run towards the final in favor of wax And Angelina in the singing category.
We caught up with him on the day of the release of his first post-talent EP, Universalwhich was also the day of the first signing to talk about his experience in the program and, precisely, of the album:
“The first period at Amici I was very active psychologically but then I gradually faded away. When I went out, however, everything reactivated as if Amici had confronted me with my fears. Standing there, though, I couldn’t see them.
I tried to build a routine for 8 months but it was very difficult. The unexpected was all around the corner and you had to be ready at any moment.
Friends it was a good blow and it taught me to be very flexible psychologically”
Diving into the EP, Aaron has decided to collect all the tracks presented within the program:
“Universal it represents a refuge from not being able to be so far from home. With Universal everything has become more welcoming.
I tell you the truth, I didn’t think much about building the EP, which is different from me because I’m very manic. Inside Amici, however, you didn’t have time to do everything in a manic way because you had to carry on the program.
I tried to play the songs that both Maria and I liked, I focused on versatility. I know I went into the niche, but now I’ll start right away with a more focused project. This is just a first chapter and I want to release other more focused and focused stuff.
After a while you do this job you get intoxicated because you have to release the songs based on the record dynamics. I’m feeling very good about this thing, I have a very strong team and I love everyone so much and I thank them.
Now we’ll try to do Serie A things and the most important thing is that I’m at the centre.”
What does that mean Aaron did you choose the songs with Maria?
“The comparison is nice, I chose everything but then I listened to them together with Maria and we understood well how to do it. One song in particular has a crazy story, I will take care of you. Tommy Dali he said ‘why don’t you play it?’ but I didn’t see anything.
Maria heard it and immediately said ‘wow, this song is full of truth’, she immediately put the team together and we wrote it down.
She helped me a lot in terms of work, she directed me on interpretation or on other things. She left me with the thought that you need to be focus in life. She is hyper focused and I don’t know how she does at times, I would like to get to know her better in daily life. Professionally she is crazy, she finished the recordings of Men and Women and she came to listen to us. Absurd”.
Where will he perform Aaron in summer?
“I have a nice calendar and I’m very happy, I can’t spoil it yet but we are working a lot with the team because I want to go everywhere to play. I’m happy to be among people, I wouldn’t even put up a stage, I would sing among people”.
Favorite song of Universal?
“I’ll tell you what I hate the most: Universal. It’s a love hate because it’s so hard to sing. The last time I sang it to Amici I couldn’t get my breath in the extrabeat. I will take care of you, however, is the one I love the most. There is all the love for the person I’ve had by my side for two years”.
