The Massive Attack return to Naples, a city that has always welcomed them as a “second home”. The Bristol collective will perform on June 22, 2025 at the Arena Flegrea, for what will be the only date in Southern Italy within their new tour.
After the now legendary performances of 2003, 2008 and 2016, Robert “3D” of the Naja and Grant “Daddy G” Marshall bring back to the city the magnetic sound of the Bristol Sound, a movement that redefined the electronic music of the 90s, intertwining slowed hip hop, etherum soul and an urban darkness imbued with Dub and Reggae.
The event is part of the eighth edition of the Noisy Naples Fest edition, which will also host the Thirty Seconds to Mars (6 July), Eduardo De Crescenzo (9 July), Afterhours (23 July) and Baby Gang (31 July).
Tickets will be available from 13 March at 11 am on Etes, Ticketone, Ticketmaster and Vivaticket.
The last meeting between the band and the Italian public dates back to last year, with the intense performance in Piazza Sordello in Mantua. Now, the British duo is ready to bring his sound architectures back to Italy with a show that promises to be full of kinematic suggestions and emotional tension.
The sound of the Massive Attack has always distinguished itself for its radical approach to the form-channel: hypnotic loops, suspended rhythms and orchestral arrangements create dramatic and introspective sound landscapes, far from the euphoria of the British dance. More than songs, theirs are diving in turbid urban atmospheres, marked by deep bass and distorted guitars that make their way into an emotional crescendo without conventional refrains.
In Naples, the promise is that of a total show, where images and sound will merge into a multisensory experience. An expected return, which once again confirms the visceral link between the Bristol duo and the Neapolitan public.
