The new documentary on the Boss' world tour together with the E Street Band is called “Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band”. It will be available on Disney+ next October, although a specific date has not yet been announced. The documentary promises to offer “the most in-depth look yet” at how Bruce Springsteen and his band prepare for a tour, while also showcasing the New Jersey singer-songwriter's “creative process” through “band rehearsal footage and moments backstage specials,” including archival footage of the E Street Band. Directed once again by Thom Zimny, “Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band” is the new chapter in the Boss' autobiographical series that began with the book “Born to run” and continued with “Springsteen On Broadway”, and the films ” Western Stars” and “Letter To You”.
The statement reads: “This footage follows Springsteen closely, tells a story and chronicles the singer as he builds his tour setlist. In Road Diary there are also rare archive clips of the E Street Band, footage that tells the story of life, loss, mortality and a sense of community.”
Bruce Springsteen is currently on tour which started in Tampa last February. Having already passed through Italy for three live dates in 2023, the tour then restarted last March after a stop due to Springsteen's health problems, to continue in 2024 – with two shows also scheduled at the San Siro stadium in Milan the next 1 ° and 3 June.
Meanwhile, Sony Music celebrates 50 years of Bruce Springsteen's recording career with an anthology of his historic songs, from “Greeting from Asbury Park, NJ” in 1973 to “Letter To You” in 2020. “Best Of Bruce Springsteen” it will be available from April 19th in physical format with 18 tracks on a double LP or on CD and in digital format with 31 tracks. The collection ranges from iconic early-career songs like “Growin' Up” and “Rosalita (Come Out Tonight)” to Springsteen live show staples like “Dancing In The Dark” and “The Rising,” from hits best sellers, such as “Born To Run”, “Born in the USA” and “Hungry Heart”, to the recent releases “Hello Sunshine” and “Letter To You”.
These historic songs, which retrace the entire career of the Boss, are collected together for the first time in a single recording project, accompanied by the new liner notes by Erik Flannigan. The album cover was shot by Eric Meola during the “Born To Run” sessions.
