The social satire returns Feb. 16 on HBO and will stream on Max
A new cohort of affluent vacationers have arrived at the White Lotus resorts in Thailand. In a new, 90-second trailer for the HBO series, guests at the high-priced resort indulge in gluten-free rice and coconut balls, sign up for stress management meditations, and attend brash beach parties. As the power-hungry resort guests settle into their hotel suites, it's a matter of time before things go awry.
“Someone stole my lorazepam,” Parker Posey's Victoria Ratliff says in the trailer. “I'm going to have to drink myself to sleep.”
The White Lotuscreated by Mike White, takes place at an exclusive Thai resort and traces the lives of its privileged guests and its perma-smiling employees over the span of a week. The White Lotus, which premiered its Jennifer Coolidge-led second season in October 2022, will debut its eight-episode season on Feb. 16 via HBO and will be available to stream on Max.
Natasha Rothwell, who starred as the overworked spa manager Belinda in Season One, returns as a resort guest in an exchange program. Leslie Bibb, Carrrie Coon, and Michelle Monaghan all star as three longtime friends on an overdue girls trip; Walton Goggins and Aimee Lou Wood star as an unlikely couple; and Blackpink's Lisa makes her acting debut as a resort health mentor. Other cast members include Posey, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Sarah Catherine Hook, Jason Isaacs, Sam Nivola, Lek Patravadi, and Tayme Thapthimthong.
White wrapped up scripts for the social satire's third season in November 2023, and teased the new installment would be a “supersized White Lotus” to Entertainment Weekly last year.
“It's going to be longer, bigger, crazier,” he said. “I don't know what people will think, but I am super excited, so at least for my own barometer, that's a good thing.”
