WEEZER
Firenze Rocks brings Weezer, an American rock band born in Los Angeles in 1992, to the stage of the Visarno Arena.
The current lineup includes Rivers Cuomo, Patrick Wilson, Brian Bell and Scott Shriner. They have sold over 35 million records globally.
Their repertoire includes hits such as “Buddy Holly,” “Island in the Sun” and “Beverly Hills.” Awards received include Grammy and MTV Video Music Awards.
In recent years they have released acclaimed albums such as Weezer [The White Album] And Pacific Daydream. Additionally, they have collaborated on tour with artists such as Panic! At the Disco and Pixies.
In 2018 their cover of Toto's “Africa” returned to the top of the charts, achieving platinum status. In 2021 they explored new sounds with OK Human And Van Weezer.
The project SZNZ of 2022, inspired by Vivaldi's seasons, added four EPs to their repertoire. The following year they undertook theIndie Rock Road Tripa sold-out summer tour.
In 2024 they celebrate the 30th anniversary of their Blue Album with the tour Voyage to the Blue Planetalong with Flaming Lips and Dinosaur Jr.
SHAME
In addition to Weezer, they will also take to the stage Shamehailed as one of post-punk's greatest hopes, navigated the turbulence of their twenties with an explosive debut, Songs of Praise (2018), and a nearly 350-night world tour. After a personal crisis of frontman Charlie Steen, which led to the cancellation of the tour, the band faced a reinvention with the second album, Drunk Tank Pink (2021), characterized by a new intensity and musical experimentation. With Food for Worms, the band reaches a sonic and thematic maturity, distancing itself from post-punk to explore more eclectic influences. Produced by Flood, the album was recorded live to capture the immediacy and energy of the performances, embracing imperfections that lend authenticity.
BAD NERVES
And finally the Bad Nervesspeed punk band. Their self-released debut put them into the hearts and minds of the cream of the alternative crop; from British tastemakers like Dan P Carter and Alyx Holcombe, to rock legends like Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong and Pearl Jam's Stone Gossard. Attracting comparisons to Supergrass, the Ramones and Jay Reatard, the group set out to create the kind of bold, intense, as opposed to formulaic, rock sound that the genre was built on. Their second LP, Still Nervous, was released on May 31, 2024. Read the article of their live at Circolo Magnolia last November 2024 here.
GREEN DAY
The headliners on Sunday 15 June will be Green Day, led by Billie Joe Armstrong.
The band is among the most influential on the world music scene. The numbers speak for themselves: over 75 million records sold and 10 billion streams.
Their latest album, Saviorsreleased on January 19, 2024, is a satirical and powerful album that has received widespread critical acclaim.
They just finished the majestic The Saviors Tourwith a sold-out of 80,000 spectators at the only Italian date at I-Days Milano 2024.
On that occasion, they celebrated two milestones in their career: the 30th anniversary of Dookie and the 20th of American Idiot.
Despite their success, Green Day show no signs of stopping. They are already ready to return to the Firenze Rocks stage.
After the triumph of 2022, this will be an unmissable event for the Italian public.
