The “Club Classics” artist will also double as host and musical guest on Saturday Night Live on Nov. 16
Charli XCX and her Brat remix collaborator Yung Lean have joined the cast for the Romain Gavras-directed film, Sacrifice. Chris Evans, Anya Taylor-Joy, Salma Hayek Pinault, and Sam Richardson will lead the upcoming film, Deadline reports. The film is loosely based on Joan of Arc.
Sacrifice follows Taylor-Joy's Joan, a woman driven by a volcanic prophecy who is on a mission to save the world from a violent reckoning. With the help of mystical disciples, Joan hijacks a charity event and takes three hostages: a crumbling movie star, played by Evans; wealthy elite Bracken, played by Vincent Cassel (Black Swan); and a woman named Katie, played by Ambika Mod (One Day).
Other cast members include John Malkovich (Being John Malkovich), Jade Croot (The Serpent Queen), Jeremy O. Harris (Emily in Paris), and Miriam Silverman (Breaking). The project has begun filming in Greece and Bulgaria, and marks Lean's film debut. Gavras will co-write the screenplay with Will Arbery, who wrote for the workplace drama Succession.
Yung Lean, who will be making his film debut in Sacrificecollaborated on Charli's track “360” alongside Robyn. The track appears on I know Brat and It's Completely Different But Also Still Brat. Charli's remix LP, which released on Oct. 14, also features Lorde, Ariana Grande, the 1975, Billie Eilish, Kesha, and Caroline Polachek.
Charli XCX will double as host and musical guest during the Nov. 16 episode of Saturday Night Live. Charli previously starred on SNL as a musical guest in March 2022, performing Crashes tracks “Beg for You” and “Baby.”
