Available from Friday 25 October on all digital platforms AT NIGHTthe debut album of post punk duo from Bologna, formed by Luca Malatesta and Domenico Aloipreceded by the singles Casiraghi and At Night, for MiaCameretta Records/Goodfellas, distributed by Believe.
Love, football, personal adventures, travel, meetings: the album is the band's first manifesto in English, which wants to shout out to the world a glimpse of real life. Pathos, melancholy, anger, sweetness played with a new intent poètes maudits. The duo's warm voice and rebellious soul forcefully convey the frenzy of the moment between abrasive guitars, prominent bass and incisive percussion.
As always, we wanted to get to know them better, and we had to ask them what their five favorite songs were, and here's how it went!
Pixies – Debaser
Pixies, monumental. Seen live in Bologna: what a sweat. In this song they refer to Un Chien Andalou therefore enclosing visual art, which opens eyes (and consciences) with a scalpel.
Lemonheads- Rudderless
While we were recording the debut album, this song pierced the silence on the journey between Bologna and Rome. Sailing without a rudder is our current condition and our imagination in this ocean. Without fixed points and coordinates, but straight into improvisation.
Low – Words
Evocative piece with long reverberated and dilated notes. A blow to the heart for the depth of this Minnesota band. He accompanied the nights of sex and psychedelia several times. Perfect for getting lost in triangular shapes.
Nirvana – On a Plain
The echo of this scream still makes noise after 30 years. Learning to cry on command as a solution to the apathy of today. Loving yourself before others. It would be priceless to have a time machine to be able to hear them live.
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club – Whatever Happens To My Rock'n'roll
Poster and symbol of the San Francisco band in the purest form of rock n roll. A battle cry and a live sound power never heard before, where every note and the pulsating rhythm of the drums arrive like a punch straight in the stomach.
