Usually they say: you're not there, you don't know what you're missing. In this case, however, it would be better to say: if you don't have it, you don't know what you're missing. But have what? We are talking about one of the objects that gave shape to punk culture, and which from the London of the Sex Pistols (and beyond) have accompanied generations of music enthusiasts with the desire to express themselves.
They are the Boot 1460 by Dr. Martens, a flagship boot that has lived a thousand lives, always capable of transforming and adapting to counter- and subcultures and to different historical moments. And which is, of course, the most loved by brand loyalists and by concert goers: It's practical, perfect for surviving in the rain and, well, very stylish.
In addition to being the symbol of recognition of an entire community, because Dr. Martens never wanted to be “just” a footwear brand; instead, it has positioned itself as a place of the soul, in which to find oneself in order to express oneself in all one's creative rebellion and sharing one's passions. Note: Made Like No Other. Because we are all unique and unrepeatable, like Boot 1460.
Enjoy Like No Other, then, have fun like never before. Naturally under the sign of music for the next Dr. Martens Day presented by MI AMI, this October 12th at the Ex Macello in Milan. Where Boot 1460 will be protagonists together with creativity, freedom of expression and the desire to be together. As well as beautiful music and great shows. The recipe for the perfect evening, indeed, like no other, is complete.
We start with the line up, curated from MI AMI, the important festival of Beautiful Music and Kisses, which this year will host Generic Animal on stage in an exclusive live performance of the new album, Fulminacci with a special piano and sax set, Le Feste Antonacci, EMMA and Lamante (who will perform together), Il Mago del Gelato at the last stage of their tour, and Auroro Borealo, which will transform the party into a collective karaoke. To accompany the Est Radio DJ set.
Added to these are the latest names announced on the billboard: the young Tshegue with her afro-garage punk combo, the Italian-Brazilian Yaraki, and Lorenzza, among the most talked about new rappers in Italy.
This is the fourth year in a row in which MI AMI renews the synergy with Dr. Martens, dedicating itself to artistic curation as well as the production and communication of the day, and no less engaging its community and accompanying it on this journey between concerts and activities Like No Other.
And if music is the protagonist, there will be no shortage of other opportunities for creativity. Like the postering curated by Frankenstein Magazine, or the sustainable crafting workshop with the 0331 collective, where participants will be able to personalize their own dust bag and create a t-shirt with graphics created specifically for the occasion. The artist Tokyo Tommy will instead propose a live 3D sculpture session in real time. To feel like children again, here comes a treasure hunt, where guests can have fun searching around the festival for gifts created by the artists and then picking them up in the Dr. Martens stores in Milan. To all this there will be photobooths and fixed gaming machines to guarantee fun throughout the evening.
And for those who are not yet accustomed – if that is ever possible – to the world of 1460, special guests of the evening will be the stylists of Vogue, who will offer those present a special styling session dedicated to the boot of boots. You say it: Style Like No Other.
The appointment is therefore for October 12th, with the gates opening at 5pm. For more information and tickets, here. To discover the Boot 1460, this way.
