The average price for tickets has reached an all-time high of around 127 dollars – underlines Forbes which has also collected data from the ten most profitable tours of the summer season: in a record year for the music industry, the 10 most profitable artists earned a total of 3 billion dollars thanks to their tours.
Taylor Swift dominated the music scene for the second year in a row, surpassing artists like Coldplay, Zach Bryan and Bruce Springsteen. Swift, with her record-breaking “Eras Tour” consolidated her position in 2024 with 65 performances across Europe, Asia and Oceania. Forbes estimates the singer has grossed $1.15 billion, with pre-tax earnings of $400 million. His assets are now around $1.5 billion.
In addition to Swift, other major artists have recorded significant revenue. Coldplay, for example, earned approximately $131 million from their “Music of the Spheres” tour, while Bruce Springsteen grossed $101 million. Good placings also for Madonna and U2.
New protagonists are expected for 2025, including Billie Eilish, Metallica and BTS, with potential surprises such as the highly anticipated Oasis reunion tour.
