RIZZO, “YOU SAW ME CRYING IN A CLUB”
You saw me cry in a club It is composed of 8 tracks: the three singles released in the previous months and five new songs, where there are also two featuring with gIANMARIA, Monster And Atarderespectively in 100 years And I am going crazy.
The EP comes after a long journey experienced by the artist herself, a journey of self-discovery and the desire to show her true nature. It also comes from the inspiration that Rizzo found in the everyday life and experiences of his generation.
The themes are varied, from the most intimate and autobiographical to love told in all its facets and the emotions that derive from it. This is how the artist tells the whole world of Gen Z in an authentic way, between hopes and disappointments in search of their place in the world and in constant evolution.
On a musical level, You saw me cry in a club presents very different sounds and metrics, mixing sadder and melancholic songs with more rebellious and playful ones, leading the listener to cry and dance depending on the emotion transmitted by the song. Each track remains musically coherent, creating a journey that ranges from pop to urban with hard techno influences, but also afro with the presence of acoustic instruments and piano.
Rizzo describes his EP like this: «You saw me cry in a club it's a project I've been working on since 2021, which collects some of the songs born in these years, those that emotionally and musically represent me the most”.
And he goes into more detail: «X1MILLYfor example, is an autobiographical intro in which I put to music very personal things that I have never had the courage to tell before. With this EP, in fact, I hope to convey to the public my most personal and human side. I would like those who listen to me to get to know me and my story, to see what is hidden behind each piece».
On collaborations, he tells us: «Furthermore, the EP was collaborated by producers I respect a lot and who are also friends: in the studio we got along very well, we made music for the pure pleasure of doing it. I was also very happy to collaborate with Atarde and with gianmaria And Monstertwo apparently distant artists who managed to fit together perfectly on a song with an Afro drop, very different from their styles».

Below is the track by track description of the EP by Rizzo.
X1MILLY (You cry)
It is the opening track of the EP, characterized by a melancholic sound, which expresses the feelings experienced by the artist during a period in which she found herself questioning her entire life. A song written in one go, born in the shower, in which the singer found the right sound on which to express all the emotions she felt. Born to remain a private diary, it then became the key to understanding the entire project.
SAFE (Dance)
Produced by Greg Willen and released in 2023, is a piece with a techno sound in which the lightness and sweetness of the vocal line of Rizzo find a unique alchemy with the powerful and hypnotic beat of the producer. Born during a dream, the artist immediately decides to make it come true and produce it. The choice to leave the chorus “free”, without singing it, wants to represent the creativity of Rizzo and his carefree soul.
SLIDING (Cry and Dance)
It is among the favorite tracks of Rizzo and describes the rediscovery of feelings that seemed lost after the end of a long relationship. It tells the story of the moment when you fall in love again and begin to feel all those sensations that remind you of “slipping into your eyes”. Feelings that become more and more physical, until they get lost “inside us”, also rediscovering a new and personal sexuality.
HELLO GOODBYE (Dance and Cry)
Characterised by a fresh musical carpet and the singer's clear, sensual and scratchy timbre, it is the song released last June with which Rizzo accompanies fans during the summer season. In the single, the artist remembers the past, telling a journey made of regrets and hopes, in which he thinks back to everything he could have done to save a relationship, creating a clear contrast between the lyrics and the mood of the piece, with sounds that draw from the indie pop world.
100 YEARS feat. gIANMARIA & MONSTER (You cry)
Music returns to being for Rizzorefuge and instrument through which to express one's emotions. It is a difficult song, written in one go during a night in the studio, which tells the story of the end of a love that one wished would last “100 years”. This piece sees the collaboration of two important artists, gIANMARIA and Monster which I accompany with light and dynamic sounds, fitting together perfectly.
OUT OF TIME (Dance)
In the song, Rizzomanages to paint a picture that tells of inadequacy in a light-hearted way, exploring the experience of those who feel out of sync with a context that beats with a different rhythm. With enveloping melodies and sounds, immediately attributable to the highly original production of Ok George the piece makes you dance and cry at the same time, or rather, at the right time, experimenting with new vibes: without abandoning the urban mood that has always distinguished her, the artist embraces indie pop sounds, which give freshness.
I AM GOING CRAZY feat. ATARDS(You cry)
After more sophisticated and conceptual singles, here comes a pop ballad. It tells of difficult times that are hard to see the end of, through a lively sound. Although time brings counsel and heals wounds, the artist describes those dark periods in which it seems like you're going crazy, looking to the future as an element of positivity and strength. He does so thanks to the collaboration with Atarde who accompanies her in this piece.
Rizzoonce again opens with a deep text on a very dynamic base, describing how a relationship that is about to end can lead to wondering: “if love has to end like this, does it really exist?”. Born from the desire to propose a single that recalls the vibes of Safethe song becomes the perfect ending to the EP, which, thanks to hard techno references, leads the listener to “dance a lot”.
