Spotify has chosen the songs and trends of summer 2024 that it intends to make the soundtrack of the beautiful season among female artists, international surprises and songs from the past. In the list of choices it is impossible not to notice the lack of emerging artists and independent labels.
It's all part of the Swedish streaming giant's new campaign for the Summer 2024 playlist. A series of videos tell the “symptomatology of summer hits”.
Why do these songs remain imprinted in the minds of those who listen to them? The phenomenon has also been studied from a scientific point of view, but without being able to give a definitive explanation according to Spotify.
Through the 30 songs chosen, the platform has identified what the musical trends of the Italian summer will be. First among these is the presence of many female artists who will be protagonists of the summer music scene. In fact, half of the songs on the list include the presence of at least one female artist.
Another trend concerns international songs, which this year are also achieving great success in Italy. Among the most listened to international artists we can find Latin artists Floyyymenor & Chris Mythe global hitmaker of 2024, Sabrina Carpenterbut also BILLIE EILISHfresh from the release of one of the most listened to albums of the year in the world.
Finally, there is the theme of familiarity that leverages the listeners' sense of nostalgia, which once again proves to be a winning one, as demonstrated by the successes of songs that hark back to past hits, such as the remix of Peterrealized by Jaxomy And Agatha Romero and sung by Raffaella Carrara, Judas' Kiss Of AVA with He gives me And Villabanks And I don't wanna wait born from the collaboration between David Guetta And OneRepublic.

In support of the Summer 2024 playlist, Spotify, with the production of Dentsu Creative Studio in collaboration with InGood, has launched a new campaign: The symptomatology of the summer hit.
In support of the playlist Spotify Summer 2024 the story has been thus declined in a long video and three short videos, where you see different characters who can't help but dance and sing Peterin the new version.
