The star thanked her Only Murders co-stars for being “the most kind, gentle, warm and powerful influences in my life”
Selena Gomez showed her gratitude for her Only Murders in the Building co-stars Steve Martin and Martin Short in a sweet message shared on Tuesday.
In an Instagram post alongside a photo of the trio on set, Gomez thanked Martin and Short “for truly being the most kind, gentle, warm and powerful influences in my life.” The co-stars have led the Hulu series since August 2021, playing three strangers who come together to investigate a series mysterious murders happening in their Upper West Side apartment building.
“You have shown me a level of class, intellect and humor that doesn’t seem to be easy to find anymore,” Gomez continued in her post. “You guys are truly best friends to me forever. #thebear (inside joke).”
The heartfelt tribute arrives after Martin and Short sent the “Single Soon” artist white roses at the beginning of filming season 4 of the hit show earlier this month. Gomez posted a photo of the flowers to her Instagram Story, showing a note that read: “We’re so happy to be back with you, love, Steve and Marty.”
Last week, the Disney Channel announced that it green-lit a series sequel for Wizards of Waverly Place with its original stars Gomez and David Henrie executive producing and reprising their roles in the show set to premiere this fall. Gomez will return as Alex Russo in a guest star role for the first episode.
She will also be playing Linda Ronstadt in an upcoming biopic, and will be immersing herself in research for the role in the months leading up to filming. Earlier this year, Gomez said in a podcast that her next album may be her last. “I think it’s natural for people to take breaks, but I think for me, there is a whole other aspect to my life, pride and joy,” Gomez explains. “I love film. I love TV. I just feel like I haven’t done a lot of the things that I want to do in that space. It’s not that it’s ‘no, never’ [to music], it’s more that I would like to explore that world a bit more and have the time to actually do that.”
