The two recently collaborated on the BTS singer’s remix of ‘Standing Next to You’
Could the collaboration between BTS member Jung Kook and Usher be more than a one-and-done? In a TikTok video released by Jung Kook over the weekend, the two rendez-vous in a warehouse, where they break out into synchronized choreography when Usher’s 2004 single “Yeah!” starts playing.
Jung Kook added the hashtag #StayTuned to the post, which could hint at more to come from the two.
The two recently dropped a remix of Jung Kook’s single “Standing Next to You.” The new version sees the pair sharing vocals as a duet.
A press release notes, “With the participation of Usher, the remix adds a smooth tenderness to the original track’s energetic mood. The two iconic popstars create a special kind of sonic synergy with their top notch vocals that promises to be a standout hit.”
While this is the first time Usher has formally collaborated with a member of BTS, he was mentioned in their song “Butter,” with the lyrics, “Don’t need no Usher to remind me you got it bad.”
Whatever these two have in mind it will have to happen fast or be placed on the back burner, as Jung Kook and fellow BTS members RM, Jimin, and V will begin serving their mandatory military duty in South Korea next month. In a letter on WeVerse last week, Jung Kook announced an update on his enlistment.
“As I share this news, I feel heavy on one hand, and on the other hand, I’m reminded of precious memories with ARMY, so my heart warms up,” he wrote. “Every moment I’ve spent with you has been the brightest time of my life. ARMY’s laughter, support, and love led me to this point. Thank you so much for supporting my dream and walking with me silently.”
