«I have the flag of Palestine and that of Peace outside the window. On June 20th at the concert there will be Tre Allegri Ragazzi Morti, Willie Peyote, Enzo Iacchetti. Obviously the cast is being defined. Last year we raised 83 thousand euros, donated entirely to Doctors Without Borders. It's not a big amount, but we do what we can.”
These are the words of Piero Pelù, who, interviewed by Repubblica, reveals plans to hold a new concert to raise funds. A new edition of SOS Palestine in support of Doctors Without Borders. The concert date is June 20th at the Cascine Ernesto De Pascale Amphitheater in Florence.
These are the artist's words, published on Instagram: «For more than 80 years Palestine has been devastated by the increasingly violent occupation of the Israeli Zionists (not by Jews in general but by racist extremists who hide under the flag of Israel). Palestine is now an open-air laboratory: if no one opposes the genocide taking place in that land then everything will be permitted in the future, even in Italy in the face of the neo-nationalists who support Netanyahu's colonialist government.
Doctors Without Borders has been helping the Palestinian population for decades and we artists united cannot find any other civil and constructive way than this concert to help those who help those who are victims of an infamous daily genocide.”
