The two-day Mediterranean Tourism Knowledge Exchange and Policy Forum brings together researchers and policymakers to exchange news, views and research findings. It aims at empowering Mediterranean Tourism regional and economic development, policy and planning, through evidence-based practice. The Forum supports tourism of selected destinations, and empowers hospitality organizations to develop their competitiveness and become more sustainable, as well as client-oriented.
One of the emphasis of this year’s forum is regenerative tourism – embracing the activities which are supposed to revitalize and positively impact both the environment and local communities, making destinations more attractive not only for visitors, but for locals as well.
Antonio Santini reports that the forum participants enjoy an excellent atmosphere, and he has already collected insights from a number of industry leaders. Everyone notes the excellent prospects for Mediterranean tourism in the coming year.
