    Johnny Marr, 5 dates announced in Italy for next summer

    After the success achieved during the recent autumn tour, with sold out events in Bologna and Milan, five further concerts have been announced that Johnny Marr will hold in Italy next July.

    Johnny Marr wrote some of the most important pages in the history of contemporary music, starting from his experience with the Smiths, which established him as one of the most influential authors and guitarists of his generation from a very young age. His creative path then saw him at the center of numerous fundamental projects, from The The to Electronic, from Modest Mouse to Cribs, as well as many collaborations with very important artists, including Pretenders, Talking Heads, Avalanches, the composer Hans Zimmer, with whom he worked on the soundtrack of the latest James Bond film, “No Time To Die“co-signing the Oscar-nominated title track with Billie Eilish.

    Marr's live return comes at a particularly fertile moment in his career. With “Spirit Power: The Best Of Johnny Marr”, released on November 3, 2023, the guitarist celebrated ten years of solo activity through a personally curated collection that traces the most significant moments of his journey as a frontman. The album includes the most representative songs from his four UK Top Ten albums — “The Messenger”, “Playland”, “Call The Comet”, “Fever Dreams Pts 1–4″ — along with stand-alone singles and two previously unreleased songs, “Somewhere“ and “The Answer“.
    In 2025 he also released “Look Out Live!”, an album recorded in 2024 at the Hammersmith Apollo in London, which captures the power and breadth of his live repertoire: from songs from his solo career to some Smiths classics, through stints with Electronic and iconic covers such as “The Passenger“ by Iggy Pop and “Rebel Rebel“ by David Bowie, with Neil Tennant of Pet Shop Boys as special guest.
