The video is online “POLYPROPYLENE” (CynicalDisenchantment/Artist First)the new single from Borghese Cosmonautsreleased Friday 6 February.
The video clip, directed by Gabriel the Faundevelops through a minimal but highly explanatory aesthetic, built on a continuous dialogue between physical presence and digital imagery. The opening is essential: the band moves inside an empty, completely white space, a neutral environment that becomes the starting and return point of the entire visual story.
From this abstract dimension the video interrupts and fragments, alternating the initial shot with a series of iconic digital settings: from the historic Windows background of the lawn to YouTube screenshots, up to digital magazine covers, Instagram live broadcasts and breaking news from a news broadcast.
Among these incursions, a Twitter screen also appears, with the Pope's post cited in the lyrics of the song, an element that strengthens the direct link between images and words. The result is a video clip which, through a simple and coherent construction, reflects on the overload of stimuli, the invasiveness of the digital and the fragmentation of the present, where everything appears to be made of polypropylene, plastic.
“POLYPROPYLENE”it is the first piece of a new album that will see the light in 2026 and for which i Borghese Cosmonauts they are busy in the recording studio these weeks. For the band the last year and a half has proved to be pure creative energy, thanks to many important experiences such as “Sanremo Giovani”, “X Factor”, the May Day Concert in Rome and a tour of over 20 dates, to strengthen the dimension that best represents the band's passion for live music and talent on stage.
BOURGEOIS COSMONAUTS
THE Borghese Cosmonauts (Leonardo Rese vocals and keyboards, Alessandro Mastropietro guitar and Marco Cestrone drums), are a band with Funk, Disco and Rock influences, which debuts in 2023 with the song “All Useless”already presented live during their concerts. In May 2023 they released the second single “Lemon Gin”, which led them to perform at the RDS Summer Festival opening for The Kolors and Alex Britti concerts. In November 2023 they release the third single “What Will Be”the result of the collaboration with the producer Spanishhh, which marks an important step in their musical experimentation. The first album is released in April 2024 “Salt Happiness”which they brought to the stage of the RDS Summer Festival in July of the same year, opening for Tananai and Francesco Gabbani. In November 2024 they participated in Sanremo Giovani with the song “Tropical Aurora” and they win a place among the 24 competing artists, as the only band. On December 31st they played as the opening act at the New Year's Eve concert in Rome at the Circo Massimo, before PFM, Boy George and Gabry Ponte. It comes out in March 2025 “Rome FCO”a romantic ballad presented with a live event right inside the departures area of Fiumicino airport in Rome. They then take part in the May Day Concert and begin an important summer of concerts, in squares, festivals, opening acts and hosted in radio and TV events. They publish in July “Les Friques”a song with pungent lyrics that pays homage to the world and sound of dance that has made entire generations dance, and in August they immerse themselves in a production session that leads to the writing of new songs that today represent the material that will compose the next album of unreleased songs, characterized by a mature and conscious artistic choice, based on a personal and defined sound, which accompanies catchy melodies and never banal lyrics.
