Almost ten years after his first Festival with The Error Diary, Michele Bravi returns – for the third time in his career – to compete among the Bigs Sanremo 2026 with Sooner or later (pre-save here): an intimate and spontaneous reflection on the sense of inadequacy, dedicated to those who, at least once in their life, have felt out of place in the world.
Directed by the Maestro Alterisio Paoletti, Michele Bravi tells the story Like this the awkwardness of lifewhich can also raise a smile, but still exposes common fragilities that need to be recognised, welcomed and, sometimes, played down.
On the purely musical front, however, the song – written together with Swallow And Gianmarco Grande and produced by the same Michael with Carlo Di Francesco – rests on a pressing harmonic construction, in which major and minor scales chase each other and collide in abrupt but necessary passages, giving life to a vibrant balance that blends the energy of “Brit pop” with a symphonic and cinematic breath.
And, precisely in this regard, Sooner or later is accompanied by a short film written and directed by Ilenia Pastorelliwho thus signs his first directorial.
MICHELE BRAVI: THE GENESIS OF “PRIMA O POI” AND… THE NEW ALBUM – ENTERTAINMENT
Sooner or later it is the ram's head of a much larger project, which will arrive after Sanremo and which will have a slightly more theatrical slant. At stake, however, there is not only one album (Mast/Believe), but also a show, a tour:
“I wrote the album thinking of a sort of live transposition of the pieces contained within it. The songs are therefore born according to the show that we will take around Italy and, precisely for this reason, they have a strong theatrical and cinematic component”, comments Michele Bravi.
Then, referring to the genesis of the Sanremo bano, he adds:
“Sooner or later she became the head of this project after some time. In fact, the piece was born from a scrap. I had recently started working with Swallow. One day when we didn't have much time available, I showed him a folder with '400 thousand horrible ideas' and that's exactly where we came up with the verse of Sooner or later“.
But why, among all the songs on the album, Michele Bravi did you choose this one for the Festival?
“At my own risk, I have always chosen the Sanremo songs myself. This year, however, it went a little differently. Having conceived the album as a sort of musical/comedy, which evolves within the show that I will then take around Italy, at a certain point I sent Sooner or later in the family group and my mum's response was: 'Finally a good song'. So, little by little, I became convinced too and sent it to Carlo Conti”.

SANREMO 2026: “SOME OR LATER”, THE INTERVIEW WITH MICHELE BRAVI
During the interview Michele Bravi he told us about the song with which he will take part – competing among the Bigs – in the Sanremo Festivalbut also of the relationship with Fiorella Mannoiawith whom he will share the stage in the evening dedicated to covers and duets, during which they will perform Tomorrow is another day Of Ornella Vanoni:
“When I talk to Fiorella I have the perception of talking to someone my age. Furthermore, over time, we have rediscovered ourselves to be damn similar. As much as I confirm that she is the greatest Italian interpreter, on a human level she is much more: she is wonderful.
In Sanremo I am therefore very happy to be able to have a giant of music at my side and, at the same time, a friendly gaze, capable of making me feel at home.”
But that's not all! To the question “In case of victory, you would agree to represent Italy at theEurovision Song Contest?” the singer-songwriter confided to us that he is very conflicted and that he needs some more time to reflect on it:
“Not participating would be a way of expressing one's dissent compared to the genocide currently underway. And, in this sense, I can only agree. At the same time, however, I'm not a 'fan' of cancel and exclusion culture“.
