The Usual Dandy come back with For when you're sad sadnew single out on all platforms from Thursday 6 February 2026. Today we bring you the official video as an exclusive preview on All Music Italia.
This new song by the singer-songwriter was produced by Andrea Piraz and arrives a year after the album SESINEPA! and opens a new chapter in his artistic journey.
The Usual Dandy returns with “For when you're sad, sad”
For when you're sad sad moves within a broad imaginary, between references ranging from Cosmicomics Of Italo Calvino up to places and images that pass from Africa to Louvreto arrive at a much more everyday thought: feeling like “dots” in the universe and, despite everything, trying to make sense of one's own randomness.
The writing is presented as a dedication to those who feel lost but continue to dance. Not a shortcut to avoid sadness, but a way to stay inside it: go through it, welcome it and then let it go, without making it a pose.
The production of Andrea Piraz works on a balance between heaven and everyday life: an immediate melodic base that leaves room for a more poetic and “microcosmic” imagery, while maintaining a recognizable line.
